You can register for a single day, or for all four days. For the first time, we're offering a bundled price that includes all four days, plus both social events. You can save yourself some serious cash by registering before August 15. Registering now also makes planning the event a little easier.

Classes are on a first-come, first-served basis, as the number of people that can be accommodated in each class is limited. Please note that not all classes are included in the base registration price.

ABOUT THE SESSIONS

Warpstock 2004 offers OS/2-eCS users a mix of hands-on classes and presentations. Presentations and demonstrations are generally 90 minutes in length.

Versatile Home Networking with OS/2

Dr. Christopher M. Clayton will give a 90-minute presentation on creating a home network that centralizes data storage and printers, with easy point-to-point communications. Topics include:

  • setting up a variety of TCP/IP services
  • communicating via an ISP (NAT)
  • security and safety (anti-virus and backup), including connecting OS/2 and eComStation to a windows network.

Dr. Clayton will also discuss Injoy's FX firewall, which ships with the company's dialer product.

OS/2 Hardware and Software News

Oliver Mark will provide updates on hardware and software development, items of strategic interest, and migration considerations for OS/2-eCS users. Mr. Mark is Senior IT Architect and Principal at IBM Global Services EMEA, responsible for OS/2 and Linux-related Services. He has more than ten years of experience in OS/2 and Warp environments as well as experiences with Warp Server, Warp Server for e-business, and Workspace On-Demand.

He is currently VP of Warpstock, Inc. and has presented at almost all Warpstock events in the US and Europe.

Was It Broken Before You Started?

Presenter Chuck McKinnis has been an OS/2 user since the beta days of 1989, and has Rexx programming experience from IBM's first release of the product. Mr. McKinnis retired from IBM in 1992 after 26 years as a systems engineer. He now operates a private consulting practice, and is the author of the eCS Maintenance Tool and the NICPAK. He is also a contributor to RexxAutoStart. Mr. McKinnis will provide an overview of the eComStation Maintenance Tool and an update on its use. He will also discuss maintenance issues in general, and answer any questions you might have concerning the maintenance of OS/2 systems. "Thoughtful arguing is permitted and encouraged."
