TEC05 - Speed & Performance On OS/2

    This presentation will discuss performance aspects of OS/2 systems and web technologies, such as OS/2 Java and IBM OS/2 Web Browser. Application design considerations for good performance will covered. System design considerations, such as memory usage and multiprocessor exploitation, will be briefly discussed.

    We will discuss diverse techniques that enable us to remote-boot various operating systems (in both diskless and non-diskless mode) from eComStation and OS/2 Warp Server. The presentations will include a demonstration of our own software for DHCP/PXE and RIPL remote-booting. A special attention will be given to technical details that determine remote-booting of OS/2, and some interesting non-standard applications of our remote-booting software.
