Gettysburg National Battlefield (about 35 miles South of Hershey). The small town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania was the site of the largest battle ever waged during the American Civil War. Fought in the first three days of July 1863, the Battle of Gettysburg resulted in a hallmark victory for the Union "Army of the Potomac" and successfully ended the second invasion of the North by General Robert E. Lee's "Army of Northern Virginia". Historians have referred to the battle as a major turning point in the war, the "High Water Mark of the Confederacy". It was also the bloodiest single battle of the war, resulting in over 51,000 soldiers killed, wounded, captured or missing.
Lancaster County, best known for the Amish farms and buggies, the Lancaster farmer's market, Amish handcrafted furniture, and country style family dining restaurants. There is a large list of area attractions here.
Strasburg Rail Road, about 20 minutes South-East of Hershey in Lancaster County. All aboard America's oldest short-line railroad, where you'll ride authentically restored passenger cars pulled by a huge, coal-burning steam locomotive.

The United States Army Militairy History Institute, (located in the National War College in Carlisle, PA about 20 miles West of Hershey). Their mission is to preserve the Army’s history and ensure access to historical research materials. We serve as the primary facility where researchers study Army history.
Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) The Eastern Division AACA National Fall Meet takes place each year during the 1st full week in October. The Hershey Region began hosting the show in 1955 and has done so each year since then.
Harley Davidson factory tour in York, PA (about 15 miles South-West of Hershey). Established as an assembly facility in 1973, Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations in York, Pa. is the largest Harley-Davidson manufacturing facility, employing roughly half the company's production workforce. The York facility covers more than 230 acres and has over 1.5 million square feet under roof.
